As we prepare to relaunch ThankYouForGaming, some folks have asked us why we still use Left4Dead2 as our default multiplayer game, both alone and with guests. There are many answers, but we’ve tossed together a quick highlight video of our most recent refresher session to show why.

And that really sums it up – even after all this time, each match is different, each match is fun, and each match is funny in its own way.

So take a look at the clips and if you’re feeling saucy and into insider industry commentary among other things, hit the channel up and follow.

Much like the Poltergeist reboot, and the DOOM movie, we’re doing something that ‘fans’ absolutely never asked for and most certainly did NOT demand: reviving our short-lived — but quite fun — ThankYouForGaming stream on Twitch.  Read more

For those who asked, here is the quick rundown on the games that made our Top Ten Games of the Last 10 Years, which we chose on a special episode of Thank You For Gaming on Twitch with our very special guest, Marcus Beer, The Annoyed Gamer.

These are choices from current and former video game public relations people.  Can you believe there’s no Halo games represented? And no The Last of Us?? Do you agree? Disagree? Something missing? Something overrated? Let us know on our Facebook page… don’t worry, video game pr people can take it.

Couple interesting notes:

  • Five games appeared on TWO lists, but NO GAMES appeared on all three lists!
    • World of Warcraft, Borderlands, Minecraft, Bioshock, Left 4 Dead all were on 2 lists
  • We each chose a different #1 game — and NONE of those games appeared on someone else’s list, in ANY position
  • If we had made a “Top 12” list… World of Warcraft, GTAV and Skyrim would likely have appeared on all of our lists.

Get Ready… FIGHT!

We’ll have a new episode of our somewhat regular Twitch stream, Thank You For Gaming, happening today at NOON Pacific, and this one should be a good one.

Today a very special guest — former colleague, video superstar and widely regarding Internet curmudgeon Marcus Beer, the Annoyed Gamer, will be joining us.

Stealing an idea from a series produced by Joystiq, we’ll be arguing over the Best Games of the Last 10 Years, as well as discussing other items that we fancy.

There will be swearing and name-calling, and it should be reminiscent of days gone by.

Tune in to  at NOON to follow along.

The second episode of our new streaming/interview experimental series, THANK YOU FOR GAMING, will be LIVE today at 2:00 pm eastern as we are joined in QuakeLive by Square Enix PR guy, Justin Kranzl.

For those of you unfamiliar, THANKYOUFORGAMING is a new Twitch channel that tosses video game PR and marketing (and other) folks into a game with us where they will be interviewed, questioned and otherwise affronted with our annoying gameplay styles and voices.

Today we’re very excited to be joined by Special Guest Justin Kranzl, a Senior PR guy at Square Enix, a self-proclaimed legend at Quakeworld, and an all-around good guy when it comes to PR who work in VG PR. He’s led the charge on some pretty major games there, including Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Sleeping Dogs, and FFXIV: A Realm Reborn, so show some respect! If you’re not following him on Twitter, well shame on you.

Today we will be playing Quakelive, as, since we do this in our spare time, we didn’t have time to ensure everyone had L4D2 installed — maybe L4D2 next time.

So join us on Twitch @ 2pm eastern, while we try to remember how to play this awesome game and learn a bit more about the industry and one of its key players along the way.
