SAN FRANCISCO – October 22, 2013 – Ubisoft® and Blue Byte® are launching a stirring Halloween event for ANNO® Online, the critically acclaimed free-to-play world-building strategy game. The special in-game Halloween event will bring players spooky new content including additional resources, exclusive Halloween items, as well as a new island that carries a dark secret.
Developed by Ubisoft Blue Byte, ANNO Online challenges players to build and manage a medieval kingdom and trading empire, working alone or with other players in the online community. Featuring advanced graphics and proven gameplay from the long-running ANNO PC-game franchise, ANNO Online delivers a full world-building experience at no cost to the player in the convenience of their browser. Main Island – The Cursed ship
During the Halloween event, a cursed phantom ship will come to berth on the player’s island with a captain who demands assistance lifting the curse on his vessel. Users will have to bring the captain loot to satisfy his requests in return for some seemingly unusable Black Beans. Players will need to work to assuage the phantom captain and help remove the curse afflicting his ship.
Pumpkins & Lanterns
Players will also be able to build Pumpkin Farms thanks to the new Black Beans currency and grow Pumpkins in this new edifice. Pumpkins can be turned into Halloween Lanterns, which can be used by players to explore sectors on the frightening new Lantern Island, as well as the fabled gates to the Underworld that are scattered around it.
The Lantern Island
This new dedicated area will be introduced during the Halloween event for players to explore. Equipped with Halloween Lanterns, players will be able to investigate each haunted nook of this dark island, find hidden gates that lead to the underworld, complete exclusive quests and get many rewards. Players will need to fully explore the island in order to cut off the source of the ghost captain’s powers and banish him forever.
