IndieCade Festival 2014 to Celebrate Communities with Speakers from Across the Independent Video Game Development Scene

David O’Reilly, Creator of Mountain, and Pendleton Ward, Creator of Adventure Time, Announced as First Keynote Discussion Participants

LOS ANGELES—AUG 20, 2014—IndieCade, the premier international festival of independent games, has revealed an initial, partial lineup of conference speakers for this year’s IndieCade Festival, which will return to downtown Culver City, CA October 9-12. Additional speakers and topics will be announced soon, as will the final selections of games to be showcased at the festival.

IndieCade also announces the first participants for the IndieCade Festival Keynote Discussion. They will be David O’Reilly, creator of the independent game, Mountain, and director of the video game sequences included the 2013 hit film by Spike Jonze, Her, and Pendleton Ward,creator of the hit animation series Adventure Time. Custom Built for Xbox One, Space Engineers Brings Its Trademark Stellar Sandbox Play to Console Gamers the World Over

PRAGUE (August 12, 2014) – Independent developer Keen Software House has announced that their  space-based sandbox game, Space Engineers, which has become a viral hit on PC via Steam Early Access, will be released for Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, via the ID@Xbox self-publishing program. The game will be exclusive on Xbox One for twelve months and will retain its trademark open-ended creative and survival gameplay. Community Feedback Drives Both Development and Funding of Competitive Game That Introduces Player Roles, Hack & Slash & Shooter Controls, and a Persistent Universe to the MOBA Genre

PARIS (JULY 22, 2014) — LightBulb Crew, an independent game development studio with a team built around veterans of Ubisoft, DICE, and Codemasters, has launched both a Kickstarter campaign and a Steam Greenlight campaign for its upcoming genre-busting MOBA, Games of Glory. The game is currently in a playable Alpha state, and is looking for support to complete and polish a finished product. Read more

Independent developer Lightbulb Crew has released a brand-spanking new gameplay trailer for the upcoming MOBA Games of Glory, a game that looks to shake up all of these recently announced “me-too” MOBAs with a faster pace, a divergent free-aim system, unique gameplay styles, varied player roles, and much more.

This video shows off some of the progress made during development of the Alpha over the last few weeks.  As you will see in the vid, free-aim and strong inspirations from hack’n’slash games provide Games of Glory with tangible intensity and deep strategic decisions for teamwork throughout all game phases. Players can acquire rocket launchers, daggers, claws, two-handed swords, sniper rifles and more, and then take advantage of the enemy by customizing their clone to fit their own unique gameplay style.
