Maverick Gears Up for Shootmania Storm

It’s a new year and it’s nice to have some new news to talk about — to keep it brief, Maverick is now working with Ubisoft on their upcoming online FPS Shootmania Storm.

Yay! Clap-clap, for us! Even Lakers fans are STOKED.

We can’t lie – some of our most fun and exciting video game experiences came from blasting our way through games like Unreal Tournament 2003 and 2004 when we shipped those games at Atari.  The speed, the skill, the competition — those games were endlessly playable (and replayable) because each match was unique.

I’m happy to say after jumping into SMS, that the game captures the same kind of feeling — fast matches with specific goals and incredible pacing.  And there’s even jump pads for idiots like us who like to fly around lighting up the enemies!

Shootmania Storm the game comes out at the end of the month, but that’s only the beginning.  with it’s strong eSports cred along with the includeded easy-to-us map maker, SMS is going to be providing online competition for a very long time.  Those user maps will keep it fresh and interesting, probably every day.
